SCOUT digital magazine is nearly ready to launch!

I’m so close to having SCOUT ready. So very close. It’s been a huge task, but I’ve loved it and I can’t wait to share the tutorials, printables, and inspirational finds with you. There are wish lists and gift lists from some of my favourite creatives and bloggers, and recipes from some amazing food bloggers. And a giveaway too.

One of the most difficult parts of the whole magazine was choosing a cover image, but I’m so happy with it so I thought I’d give you a sneaky peek.

Stay tuned – I’m almost ready to launch. The amount of content that’s specifically related to the festive season is minimal and the tutorials and recipes are perfect for this or any time of the year, so I’ve wanted to be totally happy with SCOUT instead of rushing to get it finished by a particular date.

INSPIRATION :: Thuss + Farrell

Could there be a better partnership than Thuss + Farrell? Rebecca Thuss and Patrick Farrell are a married couple who have worked together for over twenty years. The sum of their talents covers a variety of creative disciplines, from photography to furniture design, set design, graphic design and creative direction. Amazing. Inspiring.

These lovely summery images by Thuss + Farrell are a nice antidote to the Sydney winter.

SPACE TO CREATE :: Karina Jean Sharpe

For me one of the best things about Instagram is the constant inspiration that comes from discovering and following all sorts of creative people. Some of them – like Karina Jean Sharpe -  consistently produce photos that make me stop scrolling and really pause to drink the image in. Karina’s photos are accompanied by well crafted, sometimes funny, often thought provoking captions and this platform seems to be the perfect way to showcase her creativity. Karina is a jeweller and an image maker and she does both with a unique vision, passion and talent. I hope you enjoy peeking into Karina’s creative world on this week’s Space to Create post.

Washi Tape and Leila Jeffreys

If you follow me on Facebook or Instagram you may already know that I put off doing the housework on Saturday in favour of putting washi tape on my bedroom wall. I’d had the roll of lovely coral MT Casa tape for a few weeks… what better excuse to get in and use it than avoiding cleaning?

My yellow polka dot pillow case is from Castle & Things, the flocked black spot cushion was a gift from Freedom, and the print is Fifi Lapin.

What I’d really love to be hanging in my bedroom is this photograph titled “’Neville, Major Mitchell’s Cockatoo” by Leila Jeffreys. It would go perfectly don’t you think? Dreaming…

Instagram Competition

Freedom have recently released their new winter collection of covetable home wares and furniture and I’m excited to tell you that I’ve teamed up with them for an Instagram competition. There are 5 great prizes valued at over $1000 which I chose from the new collection. I was in store this week and there is so much to love in the collection’s four ranges: graphik, rustic, coastal and sweet folk… something for everyone.
